His high-octane show is a hilarious mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring all his personal issues to life. HE'S regarded as Rock'n'Roll royalty in New Zealand and for the first time in 20 years John Rowles will be back on stage in Honolulu performing his hit song ‘Cheryl Moana Marie’ and much more in a concert jam packed with the songs and nostalgic memories from his famous concerts in Waikiki in the 70's. Following British Chart success with two top 10 hits, in 1970 Rowles was brought by entrepreneur and show business legend KIMO WILDER McVAY to Duke Kahanamoku’s in Waikiki, Hawaii. By 1972, still at the young age of 25, John signed a 5 year contract with the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, ‘The Pink Palace’ to sing in their Monarch Room. His residency at the ‘Supper Club’ was six nights a week, two shows a night, and from that point on Hawaii welcomed John Rowles as one of their own. The song Cheryl Moana Marie went on to become a huge No. 1 hit for John in Hawaii. John went on to perform before 1000’s of people over the next 15 years in Hawaii at a variety of showrooms, receiving Hawaii’s highest entertainment award the ‘No Ka Oi’ amongst many other accolades. Despite the constant performing schedule John continued to record and release many albums including Hawaiian songs such as Jay Larrin’s ‘The snows of Mauna Kea’, Bruddah Iz’s ‘In this life’ and many more. Since 1990 John based himself in Sydney Australia until 2007 before coming home to New Zealand where he continues to tour New Zealand and Australia to this day.

Smooth Jazz Nights IX presents smooth jazz icon Brian Culbertson with special guest Jessy J on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Royal Hawaiian Theater - 8:00 pm in the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki. Culbertson and Jessy J will be joined by Michael Paulo and an all-star local horn section including DeShannon Higa. Culbertson is known for his "funky" jazz style. He has numerous smooth jazz hits including a #1 Smooth Jazz Album on the Billboard charts in 2005 with "It's On Tonight". Culbertson performs primarily as a keyboardist, but is known for also playing the trombone and electric bass guitar. He plays with other top smooth jazz artists including Peter White, Dave Koz, Richard Elliot and Jeff Lorber and has been the opening act for Barry Manilow's Las Vegas show since 2007. Jessy J's hot sax playing and looks are only matched with her meteoric rise hitting two #1's on the smooth jazz charts this year with "Tequila Moon" and "Tropical Rain". She has toured with Temptations, Jessica Simpson, Michael Bolton, Jeff Lorber, Euge Groove, Paul Brown and with Guitars and Saxes. She holds a degree from the University of Southern California in Jazz Studies. The Smooth Jazz Nights concert series, produced by ME Productions and Michael Paulo, began in March of 2009 and to date has presented 13 concerts featuring Bobby Caldwell, Deniece Williams, Ray Parker, Jr., Freddie Washington, Rick Braun, Peter White, Hiroshima, Gregg Karukas, Brian Simpson, Philippe Saisse, Jeff Lorber, Euge Groove, Paul Brown.
