This will be a TGIF Social Pool & Pizza Night. We have done that before & it was a lot of fun. As some of you may not have enough time to eat after work, I will order some pizzas to share. Please let me know, if you want to be included for the pizza dinner when signing in the event so that I know how much to order, it will probably cost about $7 each per person. Below is the details of the event. Hope to see you then. (Please ignore the number of rsvp on the Eventful site as I promote my events via multiple channels, our social pool events usually have 20-25 people signed up): Date: Friday Nov 20th 7:00pm-10:30pm Location: Shoreline Billiards 1400 North Shoreline Blvd. #C-1, Mountain View 650-964-0780 Cost: $15/person to be collected when signing in. (About $7 additional if you would like to join us for the pizzas.) If you'd like to stay & play for longer after the event finished at 10:30pm, Shoreline offers us a $5 flat fee per person til they close at 2am, 2-4 persons per table depending on how busy the poolroom gets. Although RSVP is not required, it would be helpful to let me know if ou plan on coming. I don't have email access after 4pm on Friday, so if you do decide to join us the last minute, you can simply show up or call me at 415-215-0761. How it works: 1. I would rotate people around tables every 40-45 minutes. Table assignment is random, though I would make my best effort to make sure a good gender mix per table. 2. I would try to have 4 people per table. 3. Since we would be rotating, it's less confusing if everyone plays the same rules. Game rules is available on the event date. 4. When table assignment has announced, everyone has to move to their next assigned table even if you "think" you are almost done with the game, since it's impossible for every table to finish at the same time, that way it won't slow down the table rotation for everyone. 5. If you need to leave early, please let me know 10 min before you actually leave, so I would leave your name out for next rotation. The Darkening. Come join us on a guided walk into the night, celebrating the Season of the Dark Goddess within a Yew grove in the Samhain woods. There will be a fire, poetry and storytelling within a created sacred space. Kerridwen is our Dark Mother, Lady of Death and Release. It is She who holds us in Her loving arms in our darkest moments, in fear, despair and pain. Kerridwen is the keeper of the Cauldron of Avalon, stirring in all we release for transformation. She is the Great Recycler. At this time of year we honour our Beloved Dead. We are mindful of our heritage and past. We remember our loves and delights. We gently hold what is bequeathed to us. We learn the soul lessons of these past years and release what we no longer need, asking Kerridwen for Transformation and Freedom. Together in the woods we will hold formal ceremony grounded in the Wheel of Britannia to honour Kerridwen. Please remember to dress in black and purple in honour of Kerridwen and bring along a song/story/biodegradable offering. Bring suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy waterproof footwear - wellies are recommended as we will be crossing water. The walk itself is occasionally steep and will be muddy in some places. Please bring your own torch if you feel safer that way as it will be dark. Mary is a Priestess of Avalon and Priestess of the Goddess. On Thursday, November 12, 2009, Recovery Resources will host its 19th Annual Bronze Key Gala at the InterContinental Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The event has become Northeast Ohio’s largest and most successful fundraiser in celebration of recovery. More important, it has provided us with a unique public forum to recognize our most highly respected leaders that have made a significant contribution to our agency and to our field. One of the most important parts of the evening’s celebration is to honor an individual or organization in our community with the Bronze Key Award. The 2009 Bronze Key Recipient will be awarded to the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. The award is the highest recognition presented by the National Council for Alcohol and Drug Dependence. Recovery Resources, as the regional affiliate agency for NCADD, is honored to present this award locally. The silent auction will once again be a large part of the event’s overall success to help the agency continue to raise critically needed funding for individuals who do not have the ability to pay for their care.
