Description: Imagine an ocean without fish. Imagine your meals without seafood. Imagine the global consequences. This is the future if we do not stop, think and act.
The End of the Line is the first major feature documentary film revealing the impact of overfishing on our oceans.
Scientists predict that if we continue fishing the way we are now, we will see the end of most seafood by 2048. In the film we see firsthand the effects of our global love affair with fish as food.
It examines the imminent extinction of bluefin tuna, brought on by increasing western demand for sushi; the impact on marine life resulting in huge overpopulation of jellyfish; and the profound implications of a future world with no fish that would bring certain mass starvation.
Tickets: $15
Tickets are limited so don't miss out!

Description: The purpose of GANGFREE Month is to bring attention and a sound understanding of the international realities of the various negative causes and effects this epidemic of gang violence has on the future of our society. Additionally, we will recognize and show gratitude to the professionals that combat this threat every day as well as the programs and services that support them.
Everyone plays a fundamental role in making a GANGFREE World. GANGFREE Month will bring together community members, business leaders, elected officials, associations, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, gang professionals and the media from around the world to create a global voice against gang violence.
Two vital components in the focus and success of this initiative is the recognition of community and family. To be successful in reducing gang violence and erasing the allure that draws young people to them; we must first build strong communities and even stronger families. A gang’s ability to replace these two components within a young person’s life is their #1 strength and a young person’s #1 weakness. This has to change!
Gangs flourish when families and communities are disengaged but families and communities flourish when they are connected to the opportunities, networks, support and services that help them to achieve their full potential. Strong families build strong communities thus “Creating a GANGFREE World – One Community at a Time!” |

Description: Webster University’s Holden Public Policy Forum will hold a series of “Pizza and Politics” events during the fall semester to discuss important issues and topics facing Missouri with key members of the Nixon administration and other state leaders. The final event, which is free and open to the public, and which includes free pizza and beverages for attendees, features Missouri Department of Economic Development Director Linda Martinez.
Formerly a lawyer with Bryan Cave in St. Louis, Martinez is the first woman named to head the state’s Department of Economic Development. Her legal experience focuses on tax credits, one of the cornerstones of Gov. Nixon’s economic recovery plan. Martinez will tackle these questions: Will Missouri prevail through the economic recession? What policies have she and the Nixon administration enacted to date? Is Missouri witnessing new economic development since she took office?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Pizza and Politics” is a town hall-style meeting, moderated by Forum founder and former Mo. Gov. Bob Holden, where public policy makers, members of the community and students discuss the political process and key issues of the day.
The Holden Public Policy Forum at Webster University is a bi-partisan speaker series, created by former Mo. Gov. Bob Holden and Webster University, to bring public policy leaders to St. Louis to discuss key national and international issues. For more information about the Holden Public Policy Forum, visit www.webster.edu/holdenppf. |

Description: Jack Cole knows about the war on drugs from several perspectives. Cole retired as a Detective Lieutenant after a 26-year career with the New Jersey State Police. For twelve of those years Cole worked as an undercover narcotics officer. His investigations spanned the spectrum of possible cases, from street drug users and mid-level drug dealers in New Jersey to international "billion-dollar" drug trafficking organizations. Cole ended his undercover career living nearly two years in Boston and New York City, posing as a fugitive drug dealer wanted for murder, while tracking members of a terrorist organization that robbed banks, planted bombs in corporate headquarters, court-houses, police stations, and airplanes and ultimately murdered a New Jersey State Trooper.
After retiring, Cole dealt with the emotional residue left from his participation in the unjust war on drugs by working to reform current drug policy. He moved to Boston to continue his education. Cole holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Public Policy. Currently writing his dissertation for the Public Policy Ph.D. Program at the University of Massachusetts, his major focus is on the issues of race and gender bias, brutality and corruption in law enforcement. Cole believes ending drug prohibition will go a long way toward correcting those problems.
A national and international speaker, Cole has taught courses to police recruits and veteran officers on ethics, integrity, moral decision-making, and the detrimental effects of racial profiling. He has spoken about drug policy: in colleges and universities; on many radio programs; and at conferences across the United States; and he has addressed the European Parliament, in Brussels, Belgium, on the subject of US drug policy.
Cole is passionate in his belief that the drug war is steeped in racism, that it is needlessly destroying the lives of young people, and that it is corrupting our police. Cole's discussions give his audience an alternative perspective of the US war on drugs from the view of a veteran drug-warrior turned against the war. |

Description: Students Striving for Sustainability,Environmental Political Interactive Change, and the Social Action Committee of Aquinas College are offering a free showing of Food Inc. This movie delves into the American agricultural system and the policies which affect our country. The film reveals the systemic connection between the importance of buying local and organic food with what we eat, how it is produced and the prevalent human illnesses like diabetes, obesity, cancer and lack of proper nutrition. Dots are also connected with genetic engineering, farm worker protection, ethical animal treatment and the environmental impacts of our agriculture system.
Please stay after for a Q&A from our two sponsors Slow Food, West Michigan Co-op and friends from Crane Dance Farm, Fulton Street Farmers Market and Local First . They will be talking about their organizations and answering questions about the challenges and opportunities we face within the American agricultural system. See www.foodincmovie.com more information regarding the movie and please contact Brett Little BAL002@aquinas.edu with any questions or comments concerning the event |

33 Minutes: Protecting America in the New Missile Age is a 33 minute documentary produced by The Heritage Foundation that tells the story of the very real threat foreign enemies pose to every one of us. The truth is brutal - no matter where on Earth a missile is launched from it would take 33 Minutes or less to hit the U.S. target it was programmed to destroy. Featuring rare footage and in-depth interviews with leading experts in the field, 33 Minutes is the definitive documentary exposing the untold vulnerability we all face and the action plan necessary to revive a strategic missile defense system that America uniquely can develop, maintain, and employ for its own defense and the peace-loving world's security. |

Description: Enjoy a Black Tie Gala Dinner at Sydney’s newest, greenest venue, while supporting a very worthy cause.
On the 27th of November, Doltone House will host the inaugural Bernie Banton Foundation Launch Gala Dinner. The night, which coincides with Asbestos awareness week, is being held in lieu of the official launch of the Bernie Banton Foundation and to commemorate the second anniversary of Bernie Banton’s death.
The Bernie Banton Foundation, launched in September by the Hon. Kevin Rudd, aims to raise $400,000 to put towards helping asbestos-related-cancer Mesothelioma sufferers – starting with the Black Tie Gala Dinner on 27th of November. The Signorelli family from Doltone House is incredibly passionate about the foundations purpose; with Doltone House Group founder Biaggio Signorelli passing away from Mesothelioma last year. The Biaggio Signorelli foundation, established by the Signorelli family as a tribute to their father, works towards the same goals as the Bernie Banton Foundation.
The Signorelli family are a major sponsor the Bernie Banton Black Tie Gala Dinner and provided its spectacular, brand new 6-star green-star Darling Island Wharf venue for the event. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be creative journalist and renowned Director Andrew Denton, whose interview with the Banton’s on ABC’s Enough Rope in 2006 touched the hearts of many Australians. Internationally acclaimed special guest speaker for the dinner is Dr Bruce WS Robinson - Professor of Medicine, Lung specialist, Director of the National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases, and a founding Director of the Foundation.
In addition to esteemed company, the evening promises to treat guests to fine food, beverages and entertainment. Hosted by Doltone House at its world-class waterfront Darling Island Wharf venue in Pyrmont, guests can expect the same level of exquisite cuisine and attention to detail that have become a Doltone House signature. With all proceeds going to the Bernie Banton Foundation to support asbestos cancer sufferers, this is a memorable and charitable event not to miss.
Tickets are $200 each, or tables of 10 can be purchased for $2000 (or $2700 for a VIP package) – a great idea for a worthwhile Christmas function. For those wanting to give extra support, tax-deductible donations can be made or prizes donated for the live auction/raffle, to assist in fundraising efforts.

Description: Our Mission is to ensure that every citizen is treated fairly in our courts, that judges are held accountable for judicial misconduct, violations, unethical behavior, incompetent decisions, bias, cronyism, predisposition, impropriety, impartiality, etc. We believe that judges should be held accountable and this must be enforced in order for our courts of justice to remain fair and impartial throughout our state.
We are here to “Enforce” not to “Inquire.”
Currently the state of Alabama is funding the Judicial Inquiry Commission (through the taxpayers) who is made up of judicial bodies; lawyers, judges, court staff, friends, etc. They only inquire about judicial complaints that are made to their office about Alabama judges. The JIC does NOT enforce judicial accountability in Alabama.
