Olympic Skaters bring the holiday spirit to the SOEC December 5, 2009 Tickets go On Sale Friday, February 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Penticton BC: The South Okanagan Events Centre is pleased to announce Holiday Festival on Ice starring Jeffrey Buttle, 2009 World Champion and 2006 Winter Olympic Bronze Medalist, Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, Canadian National Champions and World Silver Medalists and Jamie Salé and David Pelletier, Olympic Gold Medalists on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. The annual skating extravaganza has been staged for the last ten years in cities all over Canada. However, this year marks the event's first time to the Okanagan Valley. "We're very excited about bringing this level of entertainment to Penticton", said Curtis Webb, General Manager of the South Okanagan Events Centre, "The show features an incredible roster of talent and with the 2010 Olympics just around the corner, a fantastic way to catch the Olympic Spirit AND the Holiday spirit all at once!" The show will feature: Jeffery Buttle • 3 time Canadian Champion • 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalist • 2008 World Champion Jamie Salé & David Pelletier • 2002 Olympic Gold Medalists • 3 time Canadian Champions • 2001 World Champions Marie-France Dubreuil & Patrice Lauzon • 5 time Canadian National Champions • 2006 World Champion Silver Medalists • 2007 World Champion Silver Medalists Holiday Festival on Ice, an IMG Event, is a 90 minute production that features two full cast numbers as well as two individual performances by each skater. Additional skaters joining the performance will be announced at a later date. Sirenas Fest, Rockeras contra la violencia. El sábado 28 de noviembre a las 15:00 hrs. en el Faro de Tláhuac se presentarán algunas rockeras mexicanas quienes a través de sus canciones expondrán sus puntos de vista sobre la violencia hacia las mujeres. Desde el heavy metal hasta la música fusión pasando por hard rock, el blues y el hip hop. Participan las cantautoras Ana Pizarro, Claudia Morfín y Tere Estrada; la rapera Jezzy-P, los grupos femeniles Loba y Occulta y la veterana Angélica Infante. En el marco del día de la No Violencia hacia las mujeres, siete propuestas de rock femenil se reúnen para exponer como han vivido la violencia desde sus quehaceres y trincheras. Siete estilos musicales, siete maneras de interpretar y componer, siete visiones sobre ser rockera en un medio predominantemente masculino. Habrá venta de discos, libros y playeras.
