Description:
Aptly called Nashville Unplugged, this show is based on the concept of getting to know whatÂs behind the song, similar to the famed Bluebird Caf in Nashville.
Each month will feature a nASHVILLE STAR SONGWRITER who will go through the process of what went into writing about a particular song and perform it at the show. SeptemberÂs songwriter is Anthony XXXXx, who wrote xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Each month is hosted by singer/songwriters Brian McComas who wrote and sang Â99.9% Sure (IÂve Never Been Here Before)Â and Aaron Benward of Blue County who wrote and sang ÂGood Little Girls.Â
Another fun aspect of Nashville Unplugged is ÂSongs from a Hat where guests that arrive between 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. can make up a title to a song and put that in a hat. The songwriters will pick one title from that hat and then actually pen a song throughout the course of the evening, to be performed at the end.

[ComeYe]…is something of a primer to his magnificently textured style, which shifts from earthy, raw-powered movement to jumps that send dancers sailing into the air like spirits. ——The New York Times

Dance is Ronald K. Brown’s unique way of retaining African culture for a new generation. Following his 2007 Mondavi Center performance of One Shot, Brown’s EVIDENCE dance company returns to perform his acclaimed Come Ye, which celebrates the life of blues vocalist Nina Simone and was co-commissioned by the Mondavi Center. The company will also perform Brown’s Upside Down, which literally brought Mondavi Center audiences to their feet when it was first performed in Jackson Hall in 2003.
