Handmade NW Presents: Portland Arts Bazaar!
Date: Sunday, November 29th, 2009
Time: 11am - 6pm
Location:
Pioneer Courthouse Square
701 SW 6th Avenue
Portland, OR 97205
This year, Handmade NW (www.HandmadeNW.com) and the Portland Arts Bazaar ( http://www.portlandartsbazaar.com) have united in a handmade holiday celebration featuring a plethora of goodies made by local artisans. Additionally, we have partnered with p:ear (www.pearmentor.org) and the Women’s Crisis Line ( http://pwcl.org) as benefactors for this event. These the nonprofit’s will host informational booth for those looking for more ways to support these local agencies.
This event serves to support an economy of crafters and artisans who have committed to bring quality handmade goods to our community. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that can be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing. Handmade NW encourages all to support the local economy by buying local handmade gifts this holiday.
DETAILS: Traditionally the busiest shopping weekend of the season, Portland Arts Bazaar is excited to offer downtown shoppers unique handmade gift options at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Ideally located in the heart of downtown, some of Portland’s best artisans gather to bring one-of-a-kind toys, clothes, home décor and more to the holiday festivities of the Square.

11am-Noon on December 1st, 2009, in Suite 7000 SFU Harbour Centre, 515 W. Hastings St., Vancouver, BC.http://www.techincentives.ca/images/main.jpg
December 1st: The Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program (often referred to as simply SR&ED or SRED) provides tax incentives (in the form of tax credits and/or refund) to Canadian businesses to support applied research and experimental development conducted in Canada.
The SR&ED Tax Incentive seminar is a 1-hour seminar that teaches the best practices of successful entrepreneurs.Special guest Richard Moore, a former CRA advisor and SR&ED specialist with over 200 SR&ED claims approved, will guide SR&ED qualifying companies through the complex process of receiving credits and refunds through this multi-billion dollar program.
If you have been, and will be, doing leading-edge development and/or experiencing significant technical problems, then you will likely qualify for the Research and Development Tax Credit! Only the company that owns the intellectual property can apply. The work must be performed in Canada by Canadians. The critical qualifying technical issue is whether you generated new knowledge to solve problems that were unresolvable using existing knowledge.
Canadian Controlled Corporations in British Columbia receive cash equal to the sum of costs incurred to resolve technically-challenging issues:
* 69% of salaries;
* 42% of contract payments;
* 23% of test equipment (new, not used);
* Less 42% of NRC/IRAP grants or other government assistance.
Learn how to take advantage of SR&ED with the information only available through this seminar.
Register here: http://www.sfu.ca/uilo/seminars.html
For more information on the SR&ED seminar, please email time@sfu.ca. Or visit http://www.techincentives.ca/ to learn more about Richard Moore and SR&ED.
The SR&ED Seminar will take place from 11am-Noon on December 1st, 2009, in Suite 7000 SFU Harbour Centre, 515 W. Hastings St., Vancouver, BC. |
