How can you add other flavors to take your pairing to the next level? Get stinky with it as we learn about pairing the flavors and discovering the great marriages of these 2 great culinary delights.
Join us for our new series celebrating the wonderfully diverse and ever changing world of wine!

These interactive tastings will be conducted by our wine professional Wendy Crispell in a fun, relaxed atmosphere aboard the beautiful yacht Manhattan. Light tapas will be expertly paired to complement the evening's wines.

Description: This light dinner cruise features a most seaworthy cuisine: 10 different sushi pieces and one roll by NYC's most renowned sushi purveyor, Iron Chef Morimoto, and 4 widely assorted sakes, served on the cozy Manhattan, our 1920's style luxury yacht.
The menu includes a sampling of Morimoto sushi - 10 sushi pieces and 1 roll - all served in an elegant, passed fashion while we cruise into the New York Harbor. Classic Harbor Line and Morimoto have taken special steps to ensure that the sushi is served in the freshest means possible for this event: It is prepared just minutes before boarding, stored in special coolers and served within the first hour of your cruise. (Specific menu in our FAQ's link above.)
Some illuminated views along the way will include:
* The New York City Skyline
* Battery Park, a 20 acre park at the southern tip of Manhattan, where artillery has been stationed over the centuries
* Ellis Island, the immigrant doorway to America from 1892 to 1954
* The Statue of Liberty, a French gift that arrived in New York harbor in 1885 and has come to represent our nation's freedom and ideals
Assorted sakes (including the only USDA approved organic Junmai Ginjo and a sparkling sake), champagne, wine, beer and soda will be provided. (One quick note: we will serve a few rounds, but it is not an unlimited booze-cruise. We aim to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all of our guests.)
Step aboard our elegant yacht for an evening of sushi & sake on NY Harbor. |

Description: Carols for a Choral Future
Gala Christmas Carol Concert features a cast of 200 singing out to secure the future of a choral tradition that has been at the heart of Leeds for nearly 200 years
The Friends of the Music of Leeds Parish Church present a Gala Christmas Carol Concert in aid of the Church’s Choral Foundation Appeal. A massed choir of 200 and the champion section Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band aim to raise the roof with the magical melodies of all your favourite Christmas Carols. The concert, Carols for a Choral Future, is at Leeds Parish Church on Wednesday 9th December 2009, starting at 7.00 pm.
This unique carol concert, now in its sixth year, has become as integral to the Advent calendar at Leeds Parish Church as Christmas itself. The evening provides a really excellent opportunity for all the family to enjoy exquisite singing from the combined choirs, as well as joining in with all your favourites. If you only go to one carol concert this Advent season, then do, please, come to Carols for a Choral Future.
Tickets, £5 each, can be obtained in advance from:
Ann Chadwick, Newlaithes Manor, Newlaithes Road, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 4LG. (0113) 258 8446.
Centre Box Office, The Carriageworks Theatre, 3 Millennium Square, Leeds LS2 3AD. (0113) 224 3801.
Dr Simon Lindley, Master of the Music at Leeds Parish Church, conducts and introduces the carols – and says:
“Carols for a Choral Future is now firmly established as a “must go” event in the December musical calendar for the City of Leeds. The hugely talented musicians ranging from eight to eighty with everything in between sing and play their individual hearts out in assisting to sustain the future of music at historic Leeds Parish Church. Choristers and Bandsmen combine with the thrilling sonorities provided by master organist David Houlder to yield a truly memorable occasion for all. We need your support in making the 2009 concert a record-beater!” |
