The service is good and I think you will enjoy the dinning experience! This is a very small venue and it is important that if you RSVP yes, you arrive. They often times have extra staff come in when they have a larger party. You may have seen the posting for the Oakland Fire Department Toy Drive that BABS has had for the last 2 years - and if you've signed up to attend - thanks! If you live or work in SF or Marin county and Oakland is not easily accessible, I invite you to join me at our 5th Annual San Francisco Toy Drive in December. 2009 marks the 60th Anniversary of the San Francisco FirefighterÂÂ's Toy Program, the cityÂÂ's largest and the nationÂÂ's oldest program of its kind. Since 1949, the charity has evolved from a few firefighters repairing broken toys and bikes to over 300 firefighters and friends volunteering their time to distribute over 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children throughout San Francisco. This year, Rogue is offering a great incentive when you arrive with an unwrapped toy: Bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl (16 and under) and receive a FREE PINT from a choice of over 40+ beers or ales on tap. Rogue will also serve a selection of appetizers and other hot and cold goodies. The Fire Department will be on hand with their Holiday Fire Truck, barrels and bags to collect the toys and firefighters, paramedics and other personnel to greet people during the party. Please stop by after work, join us for a beer, have a bite to eat and bring in the holiday season. This is a great way to bring in the holiday spirit by giving to those less fortunate. The 23-voice Cantare Chamber Ensemble, under the direction of David Morales, will present an array of Christmas art songs, soothing lullabies and festive carols while listeners enjoy a catered dinner by candlelight and sweeping views of the Bay.

Selections will include "O Holy Night", "Away in a Manger", "Little Drummer Boy", "Infant Holy", as well as works by Sweelinck, Lauridsen, Kverno, Tavener and others, and a lively rendition of "Jingle Bells" as recorded by the Swingle Singers.

The dinner-concert will be performed at the Merritt College Student Lounge, 12500 Campus Drive (off Redwood Road) in the Oakland Hills.

There will be two seatings for the dinner/concert -- 5 pm to 6:30 pm first seating; 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm second seating. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Groups rates for a table of six are also available. Tickets may be ordered in advance by going on-line to Cantare Con Vivo's website http://www.cantareconvivo.org/Season.asp, or by calling the Cantare office at (510) 836-0789.
